Owner and chef, Ben Tabor, opened the Sneaky Pickle on February 7, 2014. Ben grew up in Massachusetts, served two tours as a Marine Reserve in Iraq, spent three years in San Diego and ended up in New Orleans. He has worked in the kitchen at many popular restaurants including, but not limited to, Sylvian, Boucherie, and Mariza.Through his experiences in kitchens and in New Orleans, Ben saw the need for “good food,” food that people could afford and feel good about eating.
From a small budget and a large vision, Ben was inspired to provide reasonably priced, locally sourced, distinctive, and moderately healthy food to the ninth ward neighborhood of New Orleans and beyond. And, thus, with a sense of humor, he created Sneaky Pickle.
The upbeat and relaxed atmosphere combined with the ever-changing specials menu and rotating local ingredients aims to encourage vegans and meat eaters to enjoy their meals together. Everyone is welcome at the Sneaky Pickle!
