By the day’s light, we’re Sneaky Pickle, a lively lunch spot whose relaxed atmosphere and tasty, affordable creations have earned it a devoted following for nearly a decade. After dark we become Bar Brine, where refined riffs on Sneaky Pickle classics are rounded out by pastas, proteins, clever cocktails, and a curated wine list. In both incarnations, we highlight the best and brightest flavors of Southern Louisiana, prepared intelligently and with a special emphasis on a range of vegan and vegetarian options.

Since 2014, we have been devoted to cultivating relationships with local farms and purveyors. In that time we’ve formed special bonds with farmers, ranchers, and fishermen whose work we’d like to highlight:

VEGGI is a community member owned and operated farmer’s cooperative in New Orleans

East highlighting the Vietnamese community’s contribution to the food and farming of Southern Louisiana. Over the course of our relationship, VEGGI has grown from a simple source of produce to nearly a partner. In addition to providing us with tasty staples like kale, peppers, farm fresh eggs, and historic Vietnamese specialties such as galangal and luffa squash, they collect and process our vegetable scrap into the compost they use to grow their fantastic products. Such a tightly-knit circuit ensures the quality of our food while minimizing its waste and environmental impact.

Captain George Barisich represents the third generation of shrimping Barisiches to work the Louisiana Gulf. Every week during the season, catch arrives straight from the dock to our door. He is a devoted advocate in the struggle to preserve Louisiana wetlands and the unique Gulf Coastal biome.
